Children

St George's welcomes children of all ages and considers them to be full members of our church family.  We are all growing together in faith and often find incredible wisdom from some of our youngest members.  In the Bible Jesus goes against cultural norms to spend time with children and even says that 'the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to them'.

At our regular Sunday services we run SHINE Sunday school for children to engage with biblical teaching in a way that is meaningful for them.  We also gather as a whole church body on the first Sunday of each month for a short, interactive service for all ages.  It is a time to celebrate one another and some of our best friendships at church develop between the youngest and oldest members of our congregation.  All of our services are 'sssh' free so please don't worry about your children making a noise.  We are also keen to be an inclusive church so if your child has special needs please get in touch about how we can support them in services or in SHINE.

As our children grow into young adults we recognise that they need to discover faith for themselves and in conversation with other young people.  Our FUEL and IGNITE youth groups run each month and are a collaboration between St Georges, St Matthew's Surbiton and St Paul's Hook - the other churches in THiS team.  FUEL is aimed at school years 6-10, IGNITE for years 11-13, and both include games, reflections, fun and food!
