Giving
Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. 2 Corinthians 9:7
As a church we do not receive any subsidies or financing from central church or the government. We contribute a significant amount every month to our Diocese, who pay for our minister and provide support to local churches across our Diocese through training clergy, providing housing to the clergy and all kinds of other invaluable support. St George’s is responsible for the upkeep of our lovely buildings.
We finance St George’s through the generous giving of individual church members and through letting our hall. We do need to grow our giving, so that we can cover the full cost of a minister at St George’s and to be able to fulfil our mission to the local community.
- Please ask God to show you how much to give
- Everyone has different circumstances and so a different amount to give
- We ask regular members of our congregation to set up a standing order to contribute on a regular basis whether they are in church or not.
- If you are a UK taxpayer, please complete a gift aid form, so that St George’s can recover 25p for each £1 you give, at no cost to you!
